When the part is the only documentation left
Reverse engineering is what you need when a component exists physically but not digitally. We capture the real geometry through high-accuracy 3D scanning and rebuild it as an editable, parametric CAD model — one you can modify, quote against, and hand to any manufacturer, including us.
The output is a model, not a picture of one. That is the difference between owning your part again and owning a file you cannot change.

From model to part, without changing supplier
Once the CAD exists, the same team can produce the part: CNC machining, 3D printing or injection molding, with dimensional validation to confirm the result matches the model. Nobody has to re-explain the part to a second vendor.
A note on what we will and will not do
We reverse engineer parts our clients own or are entitled to reproduce and maintain — spares, tooling and legacy components. If a part is covered by a third party's intellectual property, that is a question to settle before the work starts, not after.
What is the difference between 3D scanning and reverse engineering?
Scanning captures the geometry as a mesh. Reverse engineering turns that mesh into an editable parametric CAD model with real features and dimensions. Scanning tells you the shape; reverse engineering gives you back the design.
How worn can the part be?
Wear is a normal starting condition. Where a surface is damaged we reconstruct the intended geometry using the undamaged areas, symmetry and functional fit, and we flag every assumption we had to make.
Can you improve the part rather than copy it?
Yes, and it is often the better outcome. Once the model is parametric we can change materials, adjust tolerances or reinforce a section that was failing repeatedly.
What CAD formats do you deliver?
Standard interchange formats such as STEP and IGES, plus meshes for additive manufacturing. Tell us what your team works in and we will confirm the deliverable before starting.
Can you manufacture the part once the model exists?
Yes. Machining, 3D printing, injection molding and dimensional validation all happen in-house, so the model does not need to be handed to another supplier.
