Installed is not the same as producing
Equipment can be mounted, energised and responding to commands, and still not be producing good parts repeatably. Commissioning is what closes that gap: validation under real conditions, with your material, your people and your cycle times.
What it covers
- SAT testing — site acceptance validation, once installed
- Technical assistance through start-up
- Progress tracking, reporting real status rather than optimism
- Fault resolution for what surfaces in the first weeks
- Remote assistance for anything that does not require presence
SAT is where what FAT cannot see shows up
FAT testing validates equipment at origin, in isolation. SAT validates it where it will live: with your actual utilities, your air quality, your material variation and your operator. Some faults only exist in that context, and no factory test would have found them.
Remote assistance: when it works and when it does not
For diagnosis, logic review, parameter tuning and coaching your own people, remote assistance resolves quickly and without travel cost. For a mechanical, wiring or physical process problem, somebody has to be there — and we will say so rather than extend calls.
When the fault is dimensional
Some start-up problems are not control problems but geometry: a part that will not fit, a fixture that will not repeat, tooling out of tolerance. That is where dimensional inspection comes in and the diagnosis stops being a debate.
