Spray adds thickness, and thickness is a dimension
A matting coating is not transparent to measurement: it sits on the surface and the scanner captures that new surface. On geometry-copying work it rarely matters. On dimensional inspection with tight tolerances it can be the difference between accepting and rejecting the lot — especially if it was applied without control and the layer came out thick in some areas and thin in others.
That is why these supplies come with judgement rather than just a price: which product, for which part, how much coverage, and when not to apply it at all.
What we supply
- Sublimating matting spray. Disappears on its own within hours. The right choice for parts that cannot be washed, for assemblies and for delicate surfaces.
- Washable matting spray. Goes further and costs less per part, but requires cleaning afterwards. Good for volume on parts that tolerate washing.
- Targets and references. Various diameters and adhesives by surface and temperature. The wrong size simply will not be recognised by the unit.
- Calibration artefacts. Spheres and plates to verify the equipment still delivers what it claims.
- Accessories. Tripods, turntables, cases and spare cables — what breaks first and stops the job.
Calibration is not paperwork
A scanner drifts out of calibration through transport, knocks and temperature swings, and it does so without warning: it keeps delivering meshes that look perfect. The only way to know is to verify it against a known artefact at a defined interval. If your unit has produced a year of results without a single verification, you do not know whether they are good.
What to keep in stock
Running out of spray halfway through an inspection stops the job as effectively as a breakdown, and the order takes time. At quotation we propose a minimum based on your real work rhythm rather than a standard bundle. The practical rule: twice what you consumed last month.
