Milling for tooling components and special parts
CNC milling is part of CoreMesh machining services, creating faces, cavities and surfaces according to the component geometry. Documented applications include tooling, fixtures, measurement bases, molds and functional prototypes.
Share the required result so engineering can define the route from geometry, material and inspection references.
Geometry determines the milling approach
- Overall dimensions and starting material.
- Cavity depths, internal radii and tool access.
- Wall thickness, supporting surfaces and workholding areas.
- Reference faces, hole positions and relationships maintained between setups.
Internal corners and deep cavities may require tool or design review. Send CAD and functional dimensions before committing to tolerances and finishes.
Bases, fixtures, molds and prototypes
A fixture depends on relationships between its supporting surfaces. Describe what it positions, holds and measures. For a complete device, see checking fixture manufacturing.
For mold components, share the assembly context. Our plastic injection division connects mold development and production; the quote establishes the required scope.
Materials and replacement components
Documented CNC material families include steels, aluminum, brass, copper and engineering plastics such as nylon and POM/Delrin. Specify grade and operating conditions.
For a physical sample, 3D scanning and CAD reconstruction can recover the definition. Wear must be reviewed before reproducing the component.
Shared references for manufacturing and inspection
Request dimensional validation with critical dimensions and drawing references. Defining what will be measured supports machining planning and the finished-part documentation.
For rotational surfaces, explore CNC turning. CoreMesh coordinates review of the complete component, including single parts and short runs.
What to send for a machining quote
Send your drawing, CAD model, photograph or a description through WhatsApp. If you only have a physical sample, contact us to arrange its review. File compatibility and the delivery method are confirmed with engineering.
- Material or operating conditions, overall dimensions and quantity.
- Critical dimensions, fits, surface requirements and drawing revision, when available.
- Required date, delivery location and whether an existing part is worn or damaged.
- Inspection requirements and the dimensional report you need.
The manufacturing route, achievable tolerances and lead time are confirmed after reviewing your project.
